The taping process is rather tedious. As one article I read says it is easy to learn but difficult to master. I have not mastered it so it takes me a long time to get nice smooth transitions that don't show up after the texture is on. I had to do quite a lot of mudding on the ceiling to cover up some of the old texture and smooth out the transitions from new to old drywall. The worst part about drywall is the dust. It finds it's way into every nook and cranny in the whole house.
